Health of refugees from Ukraine in Poland
Since 2022, Poland has undertaken one of the most rapid and large-scale refugee inclusion efforts in Europe. This unprecedented influx has had a substantial impact on the Polish labour market and has placed additional pressure on the national education and healthcare systems.
In response to the growing need for reliable information, Statistics Poland, together with the Statistical Office in Rzeszów and in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), conducted a survey among refugees from Ukraine. The survey was designed to identify refugees’ actual needs and their expectations regarding long-term assistance and support. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying and assessing healthcare needs, which constituted a key area of analysis.
